Peru COOPARM

Cooperativa de Productores Agropecuarios Rodriguez de Mendoza (COOPARM) is a coffee cooperative located in the Amazon region of northeastern Peru with its central office in the town of Mendoza. COOPARM was founded in 1990 by a small group of 300 coffee farmers who hoped to achieve a higher standard of living by working together to attain higher prices for their crop and more direct access into local and international markets. The cooperative became Fair Trade Certified TM in 1998 to help meet these goals. The cooperative provides a variety of social service programs to its members, including providing education support, credit to members, and an emergency relief fund for members' medical care. They also improve local roads and provide saplings to increase the amount of shade grown coffee.

Cupping Notes: Offers a pleasant lemon zest in a bright body and a light finish of blueberry and apricot flavors. Perfect for espresso.
